It all started with masks.

Like many others in 2020, I was making masks—but my goal wasn’t to make a quick buck. I wanted them to actually work. So many masks I saw back then were flimsy and barely protective, and N95s were impossible to find. At the same time, I was dealing with daily panic attacks. Sewing masks became both a way to help my family stay safe and a way for me to feel like I was contributing something real. I posted a few on Facebook, and soon others wanted them too.

When the mask craze faded and I went back to work as a massage therapist, I thought that chapter was over. But one thing stuck with me: I loved creating functional, durable items that made people’s lives easier.

As a massage therapist, I’ve always been a fan of lotion holsters—they’re incredibly useful. But I was frustrated by how poorly most of them were made. The holster I got in massage school lasted me six years, and when I lost it in a move, nothing I bought after came close. Every replacement fell apart way too soon. That’s when Rebel Thread Designs took shape—born from necessity, fueled by creativity, and built with a commitment to quality that lasts.

Now, I create products with the same care and intention that I put into those first masks: practical, reliable, and made to actually hold up.
